Don't judge a book by its cover
I like it coming from a all Leather set of 14 years I think what I love the most its just big love large furniture not much of a company person so it should last a while, no children and most of all do NOT believe in laying on any furniture, went from leather to fake so see what happens. Nothing beats a failure but a try so I did overall for now just got it today so see what happens, I would recommend

Looks nice but don't try relaxing on it!
from Western NY
Don't purchase this couch. I have severe neck pain from this couch. It is notconducive for relaxing or laying on it. Pillows are horrible and they slide all overas does anyone who sits on the couch. Very dissapointed!
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Nicer Than Expected
By Eric in Fairfax
from Fairfax, VA
I wanted an estate-sized sofa with masculine, old-school style. This definitely fits the bill. This sofa is massive and I worried it would not fit through my 36" front door, but it did. The seat cushions are lofty and firmer than expected. (I am over 6 feet tall and when sitting all the way back on the cushions, my feet do not touch the floor.) The seat cushions are wide enough for one person to sleep on, or for two people to recline on thier sides while watching TV, etc. The description says the color is burgundy but mine is definitely dark brown in the mottled pattern as shown in the photos. Overall a very nice look. The description also says the height is 39" and the length is 102" but my measurements are more like 37" high and 100" long. Other people's initial reactions were "wow" or "very nice" or "I like it." If I could change anything I would make the faux-leather fabric thicker for a more leather-like feel, the way it is done in certain German luxury vehicles. The material seems tough enough but if someone should accidently drop a knife or other sharp/pointy object, I worry it might puncture. I would also substitute the current seat cushion foam with the highest density foam so they never sag. I suspect the standard ones will be OK but I prefer very firm, barely compressible support. Of course, I can just replace the current foam with high-density fairly inexpensively if I want. I originally wanted a real leather sofa -- until I saw that one of this size and style would cost no less than $3,000. Value City reduced this one by $100 in a special promotion so I got a sofa that looks and feels like i paid much more.I originally was going to give it a four-star review (because of the items I said I would change) but added a fifth ion response to the 1-star review before mine which I feel was unfair. (QUality is *not* low; all leather/faux leather sofas squeak when the cusions rub together; and faux leather is essentially plastic/vinyl, which is why it feels like vinyl.)
